Each Maryland Independent Baptist Fellowship meeting features preaching from the Word of God by pastors among us and, on occasion, by visiting brethren invited by the host church. We believe the preaching of the Scriptures is central to every gathering of God’s people, including a gathering of pastors.

The men listed below have preached at recent MIBF meetings. We are grateful for their faithful labor in the Word and commend them to you as faithful brethren.

Pastor Lacombe was called into the ministry in 1999 while still serving in the United States Army.  After his honorable discharge, he trained for the ministry while training at Odenton Baptist Church.  In 2006 his family arrived in Thailand and served for 10 years with a mission team planting the SriRacha Baptist Church, starting a Bible Institute.  In 2017, God called Pastor Lacombe to return to the States.  In 2018 he was called to be the Senior Pastor of Odenton Baptist Church with a heart for church planting.

Matthew grew up in a Christian home and was saved at the age of five. Throughout his early years, he and his family moved frequently, but Matthew calls Colorado home. He was baptized in eighth grade and shortly thereafter surrendered his life to ministry while attending camp at “Wilds of the Rockies” in Kremling, Colorado. Matthew graduated from Ambassador Baptist College in 2006 with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries and a B.A. in Bible. In 2012 he graduated from Maranatha Baptist University and Seminary with his Masters of Divinity. He was ordained for the ministry in 2020.

In 2012 the Lord led Matthew to Maryland where he met his wife Lizzy. They were married in June 2016. In 2020, the Lord led Matthew and his family to Central Baptist Church.

Matthew and Lizzy have four sons. Their oldest was born in April 2019. Their second was born in November of 2020. The twins were born in April of 2024.

Born in Puerto Rico, Pastor Pedro Morales moved to Baltimore with his family at the age of five. Although he spent a brief time living in New York City, most of his childhood was spent in Baltimore. During his senior year at Patterson High School, he met his wife, Trina, who was born and raised in Highlandtown. They graduated together in 1993 and soon after made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Pedro and Trina have been blessed with four grown daughters, three of whom are married, and five precious grandchildren.

Pastor Morales has faithfully served the Lord in various ministry roles, including Assistant Pastor, Youth Pastor, and Spanish Pastor. Though deeply committed to these ministries, God placed a strong burden on his heart to establish a gospel-preaching church in the city where he and Trina were raised. After much prayer and godly counsel, the Lord confirmed His will through Scripture: “Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.” — Mark 5:19

In 2021, Pedro and Trina returned to Baltimore, and on September 18, 2022, Baltimore Baptist Church was planted. They have a deep passion for loving and serving their community and firmly believe that the gospel that transformed their lives on November 27, 1993, still has the power to transform the lives of others today.
